Roach Puller Float – Sliding Stick Float for Stillwaters
0 - 2BB (basically the bait wants to be free sinking as much as possible). The perfect float for fishing various baits - maggots, bread flake / crust, worm, corn, dog biscuits.
Designed specifically for targeting roach and other silverfish on stillwaters, the Roach Puller Float offers a unique and highly effective way to present baits in the upper layers of the water.
Crafted from floating hardwood, this exceptionally strong and resiliant float carries just the right amount of weight for smooth, accurate casting (from close in to a few rod lengths out). Its distinctive three-eye design—one at each end and one midway along the body—allows the line to run freely through, controlled by stopper beads placed around 30 - 50cm (12'' - 20'') above and below.
This setup lets the angler gently draw the bait back toward the surface after it has sunk through the top layers, then let it fall enticingly again—mimicking the natural movement of loose feed and tempting even the most cautious roach. When a fish takes, there’s virtually no resistance, ensuring confident bites. As the fish moves away, the float cocks upright, revealing its bright tip before it slides gracefully under, signalling the perfect moment to strike.
The Roach Puller Float excels in warm conditions when fish are feeding shallow, making it an ideal choice for big roach on still or shallow waters. A refined and proven design for anglers who enjoy a delicate, interactive style of float fishing.
Used with flurocarbon line, this float also makes and excellent, unobtrusive surface controller float for summer carp fishing using either bread or dog biscuits. Laying on the surface, flat - fish just think it's another bit of floatsam on the water so, just keep your line sunk under the sirface and await some serious fun!
