Sarkanda Reed for float making. Available in 2-3mm (sold out),3-4mm , 4-5mm, 5-6mm AND hard to find 6-7mm and 7-8mm. This has been imported from India (freshly harvested in the 2020 growing season). It is ideal for making various fishing floats - straight wagglers, insert wagglers, loaded wagglers and various bodied waggler style floats (see pictures). Incredibly versatile, this is an amazing material to make your own fishing floats from - strong, durable, easily workes and very streight (compared to some norfold reed). Unbeatable price - if you see it cheaper anywhere let me know and I will price match. One of the problems faced by float makers using Sarkanda is the waxy outer coating that naturaly occurs on the plant. This means every stem has to be individually sanded to remove this and key the surface so paint / varnish / lacquer does not peel off. I can do this for you in advance in my custom built drum sander which uses fine grade volcanic pumice powder to gently remove this coat entirely allowing you to get busy and creative. Please select the pre sanded option if you want this doing - it really does save a lot of boring work! These stems will just need wiping down with a clean damp cloth to remove any dust/powder residue before using.

Great quality reed material for making Sakanda reed wagglers / stepped wagglers. Each of the 20 reeds are consistent, very straight and to specified diameter. Quick delivery and top packaging. Recommended.

these are perfect for the floats im working on which are some extra wind beaters / sliders and i had made some mini tipit floats as well which are only 4in/10cm long - it depends on what type of float i am thinking of making at the time as well fast deliverly as well

Excellent! I was very pleased to see the quality of the used sarkanda reed.
Despite being advertised as βDamagedβ the overall quality of the reeds were good.. . all the same length and only very few had the odd crease. A wide variety of widths, too, from which I got a a variety of styles of floats. If youβre a float maker this source of material offers excellent quality at a very fair price. I shall be a returning customer. Thank you for the inspiration you provide with your own beautiful hand made floats.

My supplier in India only sends AA grade reed that is perfectly straight. Yes, sanding this stuff is time-consuming and the pre sanded version saves a lot of effort (not everyone has a great big barrel sander like me π)
