Introducing the LIMITED EDITION VICTORIAN REPLICA by Ian Lewis! This exclusive float is a true masterpiece, handmade with love and care. Inspired by traditional Victorian designs, each float features a sturdy hardwood stem, a natural goose quill sight tip, and classic cotton-filled construction. With only 250 made, each float is individually numbered, and now, just six remain!
In 2016, I produced a strictly limited run of just 250 of these traditional Victorian-inspired floats. Each float is individually numbered and crafted using a hardwood stem, natural goose quill sight tip and traditional cotton-filled construction.
No more will be made.
After several years of sales, only six examples remain available. Once these final numbered floats are sold, this design will be retired permanently.
Whether fished, collected or displayed, these final floats represent the last opportunity to own one of the most exclusive floats I have ever produced. Not just unusual, but a direct link to previous centuries fisher folk and a pattern that has bagged some real troohy fish from carp to perch and tench. Cocking weight approximately 4BB.
These floats are based on an origonal float from my personal collection that sadly I no longer have - such is the way when one foolishly uses floats, especially unusual and old ones! This is how the first 'replica' came into being - I loved using it som much I had to have another, so just made one as close as I could remember the one I lost. Don't ask me what the hole in the stem near the base is for as I have no idea and no one to my knowledge has ever come up with a good suggestion (Lancashire peg loom was probably the best so far....?)

Took some nice roach on this float on this today during some heavy showers and the white tip did a great job of combatting the shadows cast by the tree's. Teamed up with an old centre pin I was given and a sloppy 1980's carbon float rod.
Highly recommended, just try one and you will be hooked.

A Christmas Present from my Wife and an incentive to rig them suitably to go with an antique replica Sowerbutts Pole made by my late uncle. The floats and the pole will certainly turn heads in a Club Match against modern carbon. I have a collection of very old floats and would have to force myself to use these two splendid newcomers but I must do it. Will try to make some flat topped porcupine quills as used by the Lee anglers of the past but fear I will not be able to match the quality and finish of the ones I have received. Wonderful workmanship and you have now started me thinking of the Barbel Float you make.. If I drop enough hints maybe get one to use on the Old River Lee after my Birthday on June 14th. Lucky Me to to time my Birthday so well.
I am sure I could sort you out with some flat topped porkies if you would like Doug. Glad you like these and they have accounted for some caches over the years by other anglers that have left me quite jealous!
