TEMPT ME.....
Handmade sarkanda waggler float set crafted from natural reed. Lightweight, buoyant and sensitive, with high-visibility tips. Ideal for UK coarse fishing on rivers and still waters. Available in 3BB, 5BB, 3AAA and 4AAA.
My Sarkanda Waggler Float Set blends timeless design with exceptional on-the-bank performance, offering anglers a truly traditional float that remains as effective today as it has ever been.
Crafted from natural sarkanda reed, these wagglers are lighter, longer and more buoyant than many alternatives. While not as strong as Norfolk reed, sarkanda provides outstanding lift for its weight, resulting in floats that cast beautifully, register bites delicately, and sit perfectly stable on the water. Despite their natural construction, they are remarkably strong and durable—often outperforming modern plastic floats—while being far more eco-friendly.
Designed as true all-rounders, these wagglers perform equally well on rivers and stillwaters, combining superb tip visibility with the refined bite detection that only natural materials can provide. Multiple high-visibility tip colour options are available to suit changing light and water conditions.
3BB – 5"
5BB – 6"
3AAA – 7"
4AAA – 8"
Each float is carefully finished to ensure consistency, balance, and long-lasting performance.
My sarkanda is sourced directly from a trusted supplier in India, helping to support rural communities who harvest this renewable riverbank resource at times when other income opportunities are limited. Choosing these floats means supporting traditional craftsmanship and sustainable materials.
“As with all Ian’s floats they are WORKS OF ART! … Not only are the floats well made but in use at the water’s edge, they make a day’s fishing all the more enjoyable. They somehow complete the scene.”
— Mr. D. Chapman
Whether you’re a traditionalist or simply appreciate finely made tackle, the Sarkanda Waggler Float Set offers performance, beauty, and heritage in equal measure—floats that fish as well as they look.

I have just received my latest order of floats from Ian.(Sarkanda Wagglers) The full set. As with all Ian's floats they are. WORKS OF ART! I now have forty of Ian's superb floats and I will definitely be asking Ian for more of his works of the float makers art in the coming days. Not only are the floats well made but in use at the waters edge, they make a days fishing all the more enjoyable. They somehow complete the scene.
I have a number of bamboo tubes, but the walls are so thick, you can only get a couple of floats in them. These tubes are really good in that a set of reed floats fit them with room for a few others, such as some bird quills or Porcupine quills so you have a decent selection. The finish is superb, and the whipping adds that bit of luxury to the overall effect. The bit I really liked was the bamboo cap, (unlike the usual lump of cork) the fit is perfect and is the final touch to an already great product. I would definitely recommend these to anyone looking for a traditional float case, for themselves or as a present. As usual the reed float are Ian's top quality, and really don't need any more explanation from me. Rod Goodall
Fantastic Floats. Well made a joy to use.
proper old school wagglers ,made with care and skill ,securely packaged ,quick delivery ..will be ordering more
Again, beautifully made. Much better than the plastic, mass produced floats that are available today.
And hopefully a wee bit stronger and more resilient too!
They are some of the best floats I have seen. I haven't used them yet looking forward to trotting the floats on the river i fish on
I was looking for traditional, well made floats and bought 3 wagglers, which have been first class. Most of my fishing is rod and reel float fishing so these augment this style of fishing perfectly.
Wonderful floats to hold and to use. Beautifully finished, evoking memories of early years when such floats were secured in foam within wooden boxes. Sarkanda Waggs cast like a dream and tips have great visibility, so work brilliantly on the running line on the Warwickshire Avon. Tim Kaye
Lovely products, beautiful finish and they work!
Always nice 'when they work' ;) I did once get too clever for myself and make a self cocking float with a tad too much brass rod - needless to say the market for 'sinks' is not as strong as that for floats!
